3. Halloween: I absolutely LOVE Halloween. To my surprise, that hasn’t changed since I got older. In fact, I love it even more now, because it is the only day of the year where it is socially acceptable to dress like a pirate, or a Victorian-era princess, or a dinosaur, and not get judged for it. When I was younger, I even got free candy! What a wonderful, wonderful day (or rather, night). So many great sweets, so much creativity, and absolutely incredible decorations. I love the vibes of Halloween, with its spooky lights, cats, and abundance of cauldrons and cobwebs. Decorating for it is so much fun, and I know for a fact that when I’m an adult I will surely go over the top when decorating for Halloween.
2. Winter Solstice: I know what you’re thinking. “bUt tHaT iSn’T a hOliDaY!” Well, it is for the purpose of this list. I absolutely love the winter so much. I revel in the winter daylight savings time, I could watch the snow forever, and I will often open my windows to get that sweet cold, crisp air. I don’t actually do anything special to celebrate the winter solstice, but I might start, in all honesty. The beginning of winter brings such joy to my heart as I can finally experience comfortable weather conditions (except for when my parents turn on the heat super high, which is all the time…)
1. Christmas: I absolutely love Christmas. It is, without a single doubt in my mind, the best holiday that I celebrate. I love everything about it: the lights, the decorating, the tree, the wrapping of presents, the cold air, the decorations. I absolutely love buying and wrapping presents for all of my friends, and staying up late on Christmas Eve, just in anticipation of the beautiful day. I do actually enjoy the buildup and weeks leading up to Christmas Day more than I enjoy the actual day, but no matter. It’s still a lovely day, I just hate seeing it end. I have always loved the Christmas Eve church services, and I hope to be able to attend many more of those before the inevitable end of my life. One of my favorite movies of all time, It’s A Wonderful Life, is a Christmas movie, so I make sure to watch it every year. It’s like my own little tradition, and I want to continue doing it for a very long time to come.
I wish you a wonderful whatever the nearest holiday is by the time you’re reading this, and thanks for reading.
